You created a blog and started to make several posts on it. After that, you waited patiently for the search engine to crawl your blog, expecting to get index by them and subsequently got some keyword ranking for your blog. You waited and waited, weeks later, then months later, your blog is still not indexed, and then you started to wonder why?
Sounds familiar? It is quite common to hear people complaining about their blog not getting indexed or take too long time to get indexed by the search engine, be it Google, Yahoo or MSN search.
So, is it possible to get indexed fast?Well, the answer is yes. If you go online and do a search, you will find that there are some blog that claimed to get indexed within hours or days and at the same time, you will also notice some complaining about the difficulty of getting indexed fast.
So, why some blog are able to get indexed fast, while the others can’t? The reason behind it is really simple; it depends on whether you take some action to get your blog noticed. If all you did is creating the blog and make posts on it and then expect the search engine to crawl you, you will be disappointed. They won’t know your blog existence and it may take a very long time before they accidentally stumble into your blog.
You need to let the search engine know your blog existence. How?
The easier method to get your blog noticed is to put your blog link out there. There are many ways to do so; you can comment on popular blog, forum or using social bookmarking site like Digg, Stumbleupon or Technorati to bookmark your blog content.
The logic behind this is very simple; search engine crawl these sites very often. When new content appeared on these sites, it gets indexed within minutes. So, through commenting or bookmarking on these sites and subsequently leaving your blog URL behind, you are actually leaving a trail for the search engine to reach your blog. And when the search engine crawl these sites, it will find your blog link and follow through to your blog. Hence, your blog will get indexed subsequently.
There are some people who hold different opinion about using commenting on blogs to get indexed by search engine. They think that this way will not get indexed because most blogs are now nofollow. If you don’t know what is nofollow, read this.Actually, they are wrong. What nofollow tag does is to notify the search engine not to pass on page rank or link juice to the linked site. The search engine will still follow through the link to your blog.
Of course, besides this method, there are several other ways to get your blog indexed fast, but, so far, this is the most effective way I have come across. Most of my sites get indexed within a week using this method, the faster being a day and the longest takes about 5 days. You can try out and see if it helped.
